Education<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Our workshops\u00a0can help young people develop their understanding of the processes of learning. For example through breaking down seemingly impossible or difficult tasks such as juggling into small achievable steps young people begin to realise how to learn more complex tasks. This process can then be applied to other areas of learning. Through developing participant\u2019s confidence about their ability to learn and achieve, they are more likely to access other forms of learning later on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Social issues<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

These projects can also be effective in addressing deeper social problems such as crime through engaging and distracting young people who might otherwise be engaged in destructive tendencies. The perceived danger of circus skills make our activities very effective at reaching young people who are disinterested in many activities and disengaged with school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performances can raise awareness of the \u201cworld of work\u201d and through performance students can learn how to present themselves to employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Circus arts celebrate diversity and include many skills and disciplines so there is something for everyone to enjoy. Swamp Circus Trust feels performing arts can bring creativity and energy back into the community whether you are watching our performances or performing in them!
We can tailor our workshops to suit your organisation or community group. We are flexible on size and timings. Enquire for more details.

We run circus skills workshops for students aged 5 and over.<\/h5><\/div>

Circus is very effective at engaging young people alienated from traditional forms of education. 

Circus skills can be very effective ways to help participants develop concentration, retention, conceptual understanding self-awareness and the process of learning.  These can then be applied to more conventional learning situations in the core subjects. The range of activities covered in a circus workshop mean they appeal to young people of all interests and abilities.

We tailor the workshops to a theme of your choice, and can create a performance with the participants based on your theme. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Social prescribing, also sometimes known as community referral, is a means of enabling health professionals to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services. The referrals generally, but not exclusively, come from professionals working in primary care settings, for example, GPs or practice nurses.<\/span><\/h5><\/div>


Recognising that people\u2019s health and wellbeing are determined mostly by a range of social, economic and environmental factors<\/a>, social prescribing seeks to address people\u2019s needs in a holistic way. It also aims to support individuals to take greater control of their own health.
